There’s nothing like a festival in your hometown, to make to you kickback, relax and get involved. For the third year in a row I was heading up the Tramlines photography team, a job I am more than proud of, I have a fantastic group of people working with me who showcase the best of the weekend, of which can be found here.
Tramlines is based around Sheffield, it encompasses a main stage just out of the centre itself and a heap of bars, live music venues as well as street theatre, folk forest and the Peace Gardens who all put on different events. You can pay for tickets to the core venues or just mull about for free, there’s always something going on. A quick tip though early bird tickets for next years festival are available now at gigantic, so buy buy buy!
I love Tramlines, so many lovely faces, such good music no matter what you like and a fun filled weekend from start to finish, roll on next year.
A few of my own personal highlights include:
- Kelis at the main stage, despite being full of cold she certainly shook the Ponderosa park.
- Everly Pregnant Brothers – the awesome Shaun and friends played their own Yorkshire cover versions of well known songs, my mum loved it!
- Dawn Penn – a legend in her own right
And finally, a bit of a strange one this but…
- Steve Davis – yes, the snooker player, played a DJ slot at the Millenium Galleries. It was something else, but the smile on his face said it all
