It’s already the 2nd of August and I’m really not sure where the year has gone. I’m determined to get out and about and have some fun this month, especially as I have annual leave at the end of it! Only three weeks to go until a fortnight off work and I can’t wait!
I already have a few plans for August, but it’s always good to make a few more, so far in the diary…
- Visiting the Peddler Market at Kelham Island, it’ll be our first visit since they moved it from the city centre. There’s always plenty of street food vendors, drinks and people, it’s a good place to catch up with friends over good food and a couple of beers at a leisurely pace.
- I’m overdue a haircut, well overdue. My last hairdresser packed up to work as a BT engineer, such a change but I do miss him and his banter and of course a fab haircut. I’ve been to several places and I haven’t, as yet, found a hairdresser that does the job for me! So I’m trying a new one next week, I’ll report back if it’s good and if not then you’ll find me in tears! I’m also looking at changing my hair colour, it’s been blonde with the occasional hint of pink, lilac, peach etc but for work I have to have something a little tamer – I just can’t go back to a boring colour though. I’ve filled a Pinterest board with ideas so hopefully I’ll find an in-between colour, or at least one that isn’t too harsh for the job!
- Starting the trek to catch all of the Herd of Sheffield. If you haven’t heard of the herd, there’s 58 elephant sculptures set across the whole of Sheffield, each designed by artists, musicians and people from the city. The event lasts until October and it’s all for a good cause as at the end of the exhibition each elephant will be auctioned off for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
- There’s a couple of birthdays coming up too, one being my other half’s mums birthday. This will probably mean a trip over the Pennines to Manchester, nothing is set in stone as yet but we’ll see!
Other things are the usual catching up with friends, planning events for our two week holiday (although we have nothing planned as yet!) and in the mean time working!
Of course I’ll report back with progress on these events, let’s hope summer returns!
