There are so many awesome independent business around. So much talent and creativity and so I thought I’d find out more about the people behind the business and throw some support their way in our Meet the Maker series. Today, we Meet the Maker: The Good Life Co by Aimee.
I’ve followed Aimee on Instagram for a while now and have actually met her in real life! She is one of the loveliest people you could meet. Aimee’s flare for design and fashion caught my eye a while ago and I love what she does, so I couldn’t wait to find out more about her venture:
Who are you?
Aimee from The Good Life Co.
What do you do?
I paint vintage denim jackets in vegan friendly paints (all packing is eco friendly too)
How did your business get started and how was your brand born?
I’ve been painting for friends and family for years but thought it was now time to actually do something with it and promote some good at the same time.
What inspires your work?
Positive Mental health, solidarity and the environment.
What was the first thing you sold?
A personalised ‘Stone Roses’ jacket for a toddler which I LOVED doing. It was the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.
During a long day of bossing it, what are your snacks of choice?
Hmmm, Almond butter on toast is a current fave snack. Not particularly exciting. Or Dark chocolate with orange pieces.
What has been your proudest moments so far?
Probably getting a little bit of coverage and the response I’ve had so far. It’s really hard to put yourself out there.
Sharing is caring, tell us about another independent business you can’t get enough of right now?
Plastic Free freedom. They sell some amazing zero waste products on there. It’s fab.
Where can we find you?
What are your plans for the future?
Working with a graphic designer in the near future, hopefully an e-commerce website at some point and possibly attending some events next year.
Previously we met The Steel City Stitches, if you missed it then you can read about all about them here.
