Five Happy Things: March 2017

March was an upside down month. Whilst this post is about my 5 happy things, in reality it wasn’t a happy month as we lost my beloved stepdad. You have to take hold of the good things though and make the most of precious moments, so…

Here’s my 5 happy things:

And The Beat Goes officially turned one! I’ve been on and off blogging for a year now, and it’s been great! I’ve learnt so much and met so many awesome people along the way. Initially this space was to work on my own mind space, creativity and a way of focusing on good things and so far, so good. I’m planning to immerse myself back into it and keep on posting (I just hope you enjoy reading!).

Leeds Leeds Leeds, the girls and I had a wonderful night out in Leeds! I’ll post more of this in a separate post, but a night away with some of my favourite girls, was just the tonic for an emotional month.

I kept my promise to keep my photography skills up to date and took photos of bands at Outlines Festival, Sheffield. It was a fab weekend catching up with friends and seeing new/old bands. Roll on Tramlines in summer, that’s going to be a blast. In the meantime I’m planning on doing more music photography, and photography in general over the next few months!

My revalidation for the Nursing and Midwifery Council was due. This has to be done every three years, in order to remain on the nursing register and I’ve completed it! Woohoo! Just roll on the end of the month when I have to fork out and pay for it!

Within March family became increasingly important to me. As I mentioned in the start on this post, that my stepdad passed away. It was a shock, it happened quickly and the worst things was it wasn’t due to his cancer, it was something else. No matter what, family to me is the most important thing ever. I’m going to miss him everyday, his crazy chats, non-stop advice and his generosity.

What were your happy things from last month? I’d love to hear them x
