I am a sucker for a good hair product, especially considering I constantly colour and style it. Using the bright temporary colours I do, it’s easy to see them fade within a matter of washes. So when asked if I fancied reviewing the Hair Xpertise argan colour protect shampoo and conditioner it was a yes!
Both products are made especially for colour protection, quoting Hair Xpertise’s ‘Colour Guard Technology TM’. The bottles are simply designed and contain 250mls.
The products themselves are light pink and creamy, with the conditioner being the thicker of the two. Both have a light fruity fragrance, think blueberries, cranberries, goiji and acai berries. Added argan oil helps to moisturise and the use of sunflower seed oil helps to prolong the colour.
My Experience using it
With freshly coloured hair, I try not to wash it too frequently. I’ll try to let the colour settle for a bit, but at least 3 times a week it’ll be washed. The colours I tend to use are temporary/semi-permanent fashion colours, at the moment it’s blue but previously I’ve stuck to pink!
I started using the Hair Xpertise shampoo and conditioner just after it had been coloured. After a few washes I noticed that my colour was staying, okay some of the dye had rinsed and as always it faded a bit. Generally the colour stayed, blue is one the hardest colours to maintain as it can fade into a greeny mushy colour.
Nearly 4 weeks after I started using the Hair Xpertise combo, my hair has begun to fade.
Would I use again/recommend it to others?
Personally, I would use it again. It did seem to work great on my hair, but I think it would be better for those who use permanent colours.
